Stay away from HostGator, if you forget to pay your bill (to renew monthly hosting), but are up to date on payment, they will charge you a late fee, just so you can continue to host them, even when you are not late and paid up to date. Hard to explain, but they are dishonest. They are cheap, but don’t fall for that.

http://www.webhostingpanda.com/ is recommended. It has a very clear hosting plans feature, and its filter function is very easy to use and save you a lot of time.

These are the host which offer everything: http://www.hosttell.com/

They all have unlimited disk space, bandwidth, emails, mysql databases, domain hosting, subdomains, one click install (WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, forums, galleries, e-commerce…) so there’s no need for detailed plan information. They’ve got it all. (except Godaddy, depends on the plan)

Powweb has the best offer right now. It’s on a 50% sale – $ 3.88/month ($ 46.56/year), free domain name included.

Unfortunately, each Web hosting provider has its own way of presenting their plans to potential customers. Some showcase the server resources that you are allowed to use; others present a list of features and tools that you would have access to.

Be aware that there’s no such thing as “unlimited.” I’ve ran a Web hosting company long enough and I can assure you that resources are indeed limited (naturally). A server is always bound by physical limits such as the size of the hard drive, the processor, and bandwidth (download speed and download quota). There’s only so many customers a Web server can hold before it slows down. A responsible provider ensures its servers are not oversold.

My recommendation is to simply ignore the providers that promise everything and the kitchen sink. Rather, jot down a list of features and resources that you would love to have access to. Then simply use that list to find the best hosting provider. Also keep in mind that the majority (95%) of hosting provider use a control panel called cPanel. cPanel is about the only tool that one would need to start a Website with email, shopping cart, Ecommerce, forum, etc.

I’ll be glad to assist in helping you find the most reasonable Web hosting provider. Contact me here on Yahoo or on the company portal http://www.vpslux.com (vpslux at vpslux.com).

    Cheers
    Joe
