okay, so I already bought a domain name from Godaddy but don’t want their free hosting because they put those ugly ads on your site. I don’t want to pay either. What is a good site for free web hosting with no ads?

I doubt you can find free web hosting without ads being placed on your site. If you are building a site to make money, then it’s best to pay for your own hosting.
